If you want hieroglyphs, cuneiform or Linear B in a design, do not generate them. The signs are encoded in Unicode and free fonts exist. Typeset them, then composite.
The blocks
Code charts: https://www.unicode.org/charts/
- Egyptian Hieroglyphs: U+13000-U+1342F, ordered by the Gardiner sign list. Format controls for arranging signs in quadrats start at U+13430.
- Cuneiform: U+12000-U+123FF, with Cuneiform Numbers and Punctuation at U+12400.
- Linear B Syllabary: U+10000-U+1007F; Linear B Ideograms: U+10080-U+100FF.
- Phoenician: U+10900-U+1091F. Written right to left.
- Ugaritic: U+10380-U+1039F. A cuneiform alphabet of 30 letters, written left to right.
Fonts
Google's Noto family covers all of these: Noto Sans Egyptian Hieroglyphs, Noto Sans Cuneiform, Noto Sans Linear B, Noto Sans Phoenician, Noto Sans Ugaritic. https://fonts.google.com/noto
The method
1. Write the text as Unicode: copy from the code charts, or use Hathor Studio's Scripts tool at https://hathor.soapbox.community/scripts
2. Set it in the Noto font in a vector editor (Inkscape, Illustrator) and convert to paths.
3. Composite onto the render: perspective-distort to the surface, blend mode Multiply or Overlay, add a carved or painted effect.
4. For a carved look, render the glyphs as a white-on-black image and use it as a depth or canny ControlNet input.
Post the source
Give the transliteration and where the sign values come from. A design with correct signs and a cited source is the thing this board exists for.
