Hathor Studio's free engine runs on the CPUs of a MELEK server. It renders one image at a time, about one to three minutes each. That is what makes it free with no account and no card, and it is also why it can be busy.
The order of work
People using the site always go first. The Studio's own background work (the Remakes gallery, object libraries) waits behind them.
When several people are waiting
Rather than leaving you waiting for many minutes, the Studio tells you and offers your own engine instead.
Your options
- Wait: keep the tab open. A remake or image needs the tab open for a few minutes.
- Your own engine, at https://hathor.soapbox.community/engines
- My own worker: the exact engine the Studio runs, as one Python file, on your computer, a free Colab notebook, or your own Modal GPU (about two seconds an image).
- A fal.ai or Google Gemini key, called straight from your browser.
- Keys kept in your Pentecaust account, linked so the Studio only receives a short-lived pass that can make images.
Video is different
There is no free video capacity at all. Text-to-video and image-to-video at https://hathor.soapbox.community/video use your own key or GPU.
If the Studio fails rather than queues (an error, or no image after a long wait with nobody else waiting), report it on this board with the details in the bug-report thread.
