Bring your own key: fal.ai or Gemini in the Studio, and what happens to the key

If you already pay for an image API, Hathor Studio can use it instead of the free CPU engine. The option is on https://hathor.soapbox.community/engines Which providers The engines page accepts a fal.ai key or a Google Gemini key, called straight from your browser. Where the key goes - Typed into the page: it stays in that browser and goes only to the provider you chose. The Studio's server is not in the path. - Kept in Pentecaust: keys stored in your Pentecaust account are encrypted at rest. When you press Link, the Studio receives a short-lived pass that can only make images; it never sees the key itself. When it is worth it - You want SDXL-class or newer models, or speed. - You want video. The Studio has no free video capacity; text-to-video and image-to-video use your own key (for example fal.ai) or your own GPU. Practical cautions - Image APIs bill per request. Set a spending limit in the provider's dashboard before experimenting. - Revoke and rotate any key you have pasted somewhere you no longer trust. - Never paste a key into a forum post, a chat or a screenshot.
